KUALA LUMPUR: Suzuki Malaysia has expanded its local lineup with the addition of a new sport tourer motorcycle, called the GSX-S1000GT. Based on the revised GSX-S1000 aluminium frame, the new bike promises a true grand touring riding experience to enthusiasts. Let’s check out the first impression of this new hunk in town.

The bike comes with avant-garde styling with a raked nose combined with a pair of horizontally arranged LED headlamps, V-shaped position light, alien-like fairing, non-adjustable windshield, and side-mounted LED turn signals. It also gets panniers as standard targeting the customers who want a sporty, litre-class bike with luggage-carrying convenience. 

The bike rolls on 17-inch wheels and the seat height measures 810 mm. With a 19-litre fuel tank, it tips the scale at 226 kg.

The two body colours available for the 2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000GT are Metallic Triton Blue and Metallic Reflective Blue.

Powering this Japanese grand tourer is a 999-cc inline-four cylinder Euro5 engine that is good for generating a power output of 152 PS at 11,000 rpm and a peak torque of 106 Nm at 9,250 rpm. The power is sent to the ground via a six-speed manual gearbox with a quick shifter and a chain final drive.

As for suspension, it is equipped with a fully-adjustable upside-down telescopic fork at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Braking duties, on the other hand, are managed by a twin front disc and a single rear disc.
